Shelby Jean Resh

Shelby Jean (Burger) Resh, 77 of Hagerstown MD passed away Friday November 25, 2022, at her home. Born May 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Hayes) Burger. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Resh Sr. and her two brothers Rick Burger and Barry Burger. Shelby is survived by her sister in law Nancy (Durger) Burger. Her son Robert Resh Jr and wife Genevieve (Clever) Resh, three grandchildren Kristen (Zachary) Hessell, Christopher Resh, Robert Resh lll, and two great-grandchildren Cayden and Emalynn.

She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School class of 1963. In 1966 she graduated from Washington County Hospital school of Nursing, she worked at Washington County Hospital upon graduation until she retired with the closing of the hospital in 2010. In 1988 she received an award for Maternal Child Health Nurse of Year, in addition to several Presidents Awards for Excellence in Nursing.She was also a lifetime member of Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she was very active in every fundraiser.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing,and trapping with her son and husband. after retirement she enjoyed traveling with her good friends.

Services will be held at Rest Haven cemetery with Pastor Gabe officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Dept.13730 Maugansville Road, Maugansville MD 21767.

The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown on Tuesday, November 29 from 5-7 P.M.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30 at Rest Haven Funeral Home at 2:30 P.M.
