Shelly Ann Moats

Shelly Ann Moats, 55, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 due to a tragic car accident. Born March 22, 1968 in Hagerstown. She was the daughter of Francis and Dennis Gladhill.

Shelly graduated in 1986 from North Hagerstown High School. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle as well as camping and spending outdoor time with her kids. Shelly was a member of ABATE of Maryland and was dedicated to the freedom of the road.

She was proceeded in death by her mother; Francis Gladhill, her Uncle; Butch Gladhill,  grandparents; Frank and Helen Prosper, Richard and Nancy Gladhill.

Shelly is survived by her father, Dennis Gladhill and her partner in life Terry Witherstine, her husband; Douglas Eugene moats Sr., son; Douglas Eugene Moats II, grandson Douglas Eugene Moats III, daughter Daniele Marie Moats, two brothers; Dennis Gladhill II and his wife, as well as Chad Gladhill and his wife Ann, and lifelong friend Joanne Mumma Gladhill, also her four aunts, Linda Kerns, Debbie Vinson, Sheilah Greer, and Edith Kinnamon.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Matthew Hoffman officiating.  

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service.
