Shirley Elizabeth (Willman) McGill, 94, went to be with the Lord at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Turnbull, in Smithsburg, Md.
Born Sept. 26, 1916, in Rohrersville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Haynes) Willman.
Shirley was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for over 50 years.
Shirley and her husband, "Mac," operated McGill's Esso Station for 35 years, at the corner of West Washington Street and Burhans Boulevard. In the 1930s and early '40s, she had worked as a floor clerk at McCrory's.
In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is also survived by her son, Gary McGill, and his companion, Nancy Thomas, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Glendon W. "Mac" McGill, who passed away on Nov. 2, 2004; a brother, Robert, and a sister, Gladys.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Randy S. Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
