Shirley Marion Reading

Shirley Marion Reading, 95, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Viva Senior Living, Hagerstown.

Born July 28, 1929 in Peekskill, New York she was the daughter of the late, Merrill E. and Florence J. (Roberts) Dawson. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Myers, her son, James Reading and three siblings, Marjorie Woodruff, Robert Dawson and Donald Dawson.

Ms. Reading was a 1947 graduate of Takoma Academy, Takoma Park, Md.

She retired from Erie Insurance as an insurance underwriter.

Ms. Reading was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Danielle L. Frye and husband, Brad; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Frye and nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will held at the convenience of the family.
