Shirley Reed

On Saturday, August 31 2019, Shirley Viola Reed who had been a lifelong resident of Hagerstown MD, passed to eternal life into the arms of her Lord Jesus, at the age of 82 in Waynesboro PA.
Shirley was born May 6, 1937 in Hagerstown MD to the late Fred and Marion (Foltz) Boward. She married William K. Reed (Bill) on August 4, 1954 and they raised 4 daughters together until he passed away in 1985. She was a homemaker for many years until circumstances of life called her into the workforce. Holding many different positions, her reputation as a hard worker with strong ethics followed her everywhere. She retired from Good Humor-Breyers at age 62. She loved her home and enjoyed taking care of her yard and flowers. She also loved to read. Shirley was a member of Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church previously located on First and Spruce Streets, Hagerstown MD.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her infant son, 4 brothers, 5 sisters and a grandson. She is survived by her 4 daughters, Deborah Johnson, Beverly (Jeff) Bowers, Barbara Reed, and Carol (Robert) Shanholtz, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Shirleys wishes there will be no viewing. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Rest Haven in Hagerstown MD.
