Shirley Ruth Cole

Shirley Ruth (Baum) Cole, 75, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at her home.
Born Dec. 13, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Francis Elmer and Helen Virginia (Decker) Baum.
She was the wife of the late Fred M. Cole Jr.
She was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary's High School and a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown Business College.
She worked at Fairchild Aircraft in the insurance claims division from 1953 to 1963.
Shirley is survived by one daughter, Susan Cole; one son, Fred M. Cole III; and one daughter-in-law, Bobbi Cole, all of Williamsport, Md.; one brother, Elmer Louis Baum of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. W. Gregory Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
