Susan Ellen Antill, 77, of Hagerstown passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at her home.
Born Nov. 23, 1939, in Fairmont, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Marion Earsel and Bessie Evelyn (Ashcraft-Harbert) Shaw.
In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Ronald G. Antill.
Susan was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to bake for her family and friends; she will be fondly remembered by her children's friends and grandchildren for her pepperoni rolls. Susan volunteered throughout the community her entire adult life and dedicated many hours to Birthright of Washington County, after her retirement.
She hosted and prepared all of the food for The Mute Wiffle Ball Tournament for over 15 years. She is a proud member of The Mute League Hall of Fame.
Susan started her career as an assistant to a secretary at Alkahn Woven Label Company in Williamsport, Md. She worked her way through the ranks and eventually became a plant manager before retiring from the corporate offices in New York City.
Susan is survived by three sons, Kelvin Antill and wife Carol and their children Braxton and Leeza Antill; David Antill and his daughter Bethany Antill; Michel Antill and his wife Maureen and their children, Nicholas, Grace, and Emma Antill; one daughter Teresa Schoeck and husband Ted and their children Leslie Cumber and husband Jamie, Vincent Schoeck and fianc Dory Giannos, Otto , Gretchen and Teddy Schoeck; sister Ruth Elaine "Ikie" and husband Robert "Bobby" Lachapelle; Sister-in-law Brenda Antill; beloved nieces and nephews and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Patrick Ricker officiating.
Friends will be received an hour prior at the funeral home with a reception to follow the memorial service.
Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
