Terry Lee Gerberich, 78 of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, peacefully at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born May 27, 1946, in Hagerstown, he is the son of the late Norman Gerberich and Emmie (Hines) Gerberich.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Yvonne (Litton) Gerberich, son, Todd Michael Gerberich, daughter; Victoria Ann Hockaday Gerberich, sister; Norma Jean Benner, and brother; David Gerberich.

While in school, Terry demonstrated an unwavering passion for sports that would accompany him throughout his life. He played football, basketball, and embraced any sport that graced his school days before graduating from South Hagerstown High School in 1964.

Soon after Terry answered the call of his country, serving active duty in the Navy from 1966 to 1971 followed by an additional two years in the reserve. After leaving the Navy, Terry built a successful career that began at Litton Amoco, where he worked for several years before transitioning to the Baltimore St. Station, from which soon after his work career he retired.

Outside of his professional life, Terry had a deep love for sports. He cherished watching games and was an ardent supporter of his favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Terry is survived by two grandchildren, Darius and Jocelyn Hockaday, and two special friends, Darlene Bishop, and Talisa Bussard-Derr

Visitations will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. with a chapel service at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland following interment with Military honors after at Rest Haven Cemetery.
