Thelma Arjean Chalker

Thelma Arjean Chalker, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Ravenwood Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born August 2, 1930 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Wingert H. "Doc" and Charlotte Marie (Ridenour) Domer. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Herbert John Chalker, Jr.; one brother, Ronnie Domer and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Funk and her husband, Sonny.
Mrs. Chalker had worked as a secretary for the Blueridge Transportation Bus Company of Hagerstown and then became a full-time mother and homemaker.
She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Hagerstown; she was an avid bird watcher and loved people and participating in activities at Ravenwood.
Mrs Chalker is survived by three children, Arjean (Donald) Ritter, Mary Lou (Dan) Souders and Herbert J. Chalker, III, all of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Danielle (Richard) Kuhn, Derek (Jennifer) Ritter and Cody Souders; five great grandchildren, Makenzie and Emerson Kuhn, Kaleb, Andrew and Noah Ritter; one sister, Judy Sprenkle of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; sisters and brothers in law, Mary Ann (John) Tarreto of Luzerne, Pa., Millie Chalker of Dallas, Pa. and James Gable of Newark, Calf.; several nieces and nephews and her pet beagle, Maggie.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Dionne Hall officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M.
