Thomas "Casey" Rainey, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home.
Born February 17, 1944 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Flora G. (McLam) Rainey.
Casey was a 1962 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Casey retired in 2000 from Mack Truck in Hagerstown, after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
Those who knew Casey will remember his love of fishing and camping. He was always quick witted, had a great sense of humor, and strong opinions on most any topic. For those closer to him, we knew him for his loyalty, commitment and giant heart. He will be missed beyond measure.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Louise Eileen Rainey; two daughters, Carole Hussey and husband Mark of St. Thomas, PA., Tammy Zello Edquist and husband Heath of Sharpsburg; five grandchildren, Ashley Silverman, Jeffrey Eichelberger, Kayla Nazaire, Emily Mitchell, and Ava Hussey; six great-grandchildren; nephews, cousins, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. Rainey, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Mariah Lynn Strouth; and two sisters, Jeanne A. Nalley and Mary Rainey.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Inurnment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery at a later date.
