Thomas Eugene Moser, Sr.

Thomas Eugene Moser, Sr. passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born on July 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Paul H. Moser and Helen J. (Wolford) Moser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David W. Moser.

Tom graduated from South Hagerstown High school then went on to the University of Maryland and Hagerstown Business College. He proudly served his country in the Army. Tom began his career at Penn Central Railroad, later accepting a job at Allegheny Beverage, where he would spend many years. He was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, taking on many roles such as Sunday school teacher, member of their bowling team, youth group leader, choir member, member of the council, treasurer, lector and usher. He was a lifetime member of the Funkstown American Legion. One of his passions was square dancing. He and his wife, Marylou, used to dance with Whirl-a-Ways square dancing club. They would also tour the country to square dancing conventions with his parents-in-law. Tom loved vacations with his family, especially to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He was an avid fan of the Orioles and the Ravens sports teams.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marylou Moser; sons, Thomas E. Moser, Jr., and Stephen M. Moser (Tamara); grandchildren, Cassandra A. Robinson (Quentin), Kaitlyn R. Calhoun (Jordan), David N. Moser, Olivia C. Price (Brandon), and Taylor E. Moser as well as five great grandchildren, Kamden, Parker, Brinley, Aurora, and Artimas.

Services for Tom will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. A viewing will be held the day prior, Tuesday, February 18, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Rest Haven Cemetery.
