Thomas Wayne Kline

Thomas Wayne Kline, 64, of Hagerstown was born April 11, 1948, in Madison, Wis., to parents Vina M. (Simpson) Kline and Albert B. Kline. Tom passed from this life Friday, July 13, 2012, after a short illness.

Tom attended elementary schools in Smithsburg and Lincolnshire, and graduated from South Hagerstown High School with the Class of 1967.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in Turkey, and last worked for the U.S. Government at the Pentagon, Fort Detrick, Fort Ritchie, Iraq and Site "R."

Besides his parents, Tom is survived by a sister, Michele D. Bowers and her husband, Kim, of Williamsport, Md.; brothers, Bruce B. Kline in Mannheim, Germany, and Mark D. Kline in Delhi, N.Y.; two nieces; two nephews; his longtime companion, Tina Robertson; her two daughters, Shelly Grove and Jessica Robertson; three grandchildren, to whom he became a father and grandfather; and his faithful lifelong friend, Terry Moats.

Tom was preceded in death by infant brother, Larry S. Kline, in December 1951.

From an early age, Tom was an avid auto and motorcycle enthusiast, and traveled the country attending events. He was blessed with an endless number of friends and associates.

Visitation will be Monday, July 16, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marilyn E. Washburn officiating. A private interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in memory of Thomas W. Kline to Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
