Vada Mowen Wilson, 91, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 with her beloved daughter and granddaughter by her side.

Born November 13, 1925 in Greencastle, PA., she was the daughter of the late Calvin Amos Mowen and Gertrude (Neff) Mowen Brewer. Vada was raised by her grandparents, the late John H. and Ida (Bingham) Neff.

Vada attended Hagerstown High School.

She worked at Fairchild Industries as a 'Rosie the Riveter'. She stayed with the company after it changed hands and worked as a bonder. Vada retired in 1992.

Vada was a longtime member of the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, Aux. and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 694, Aux. She was a past member of the Funkstown Moose Club, Amvets Post 10, Aux., U.A.W. 842, Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84 , and AARP. She also was a diehard Redskins fan and a diehard NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon #24 her favorite driver.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, William Patrick "Pat" Wilson, who died in 1980; two sisters, Lucille Mowen and Ida B. Mowen Alsip; and a brother-in-law, James F. Wilson.

Vada is survived by her daughter, Ida Patricia "Pat" Wilson Myers; two grandchildren, Krista Ann Myers and William Lester Myers; three great-grandchildren, William Branden Myers, Erica Danielle Myers, and Gabrielle E. Conrad, who spent the first three years of her life as Vada's very own. She was loved dearly and her daddy wasn't left out. Rick Conrad as long as she lives, he will never be forgotten. She was also survived by two great-great-grandchildren, Jurnee Brielle Collins and Brentlee Jordan Hamby.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Douglas Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday two hours before the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Vada's name to a charity of ones choice.
