Violet Limburg

January 22, 1921 — March 12, 2016

Violet M. Limburg, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died March 13, in West Chester, Pa.

Born January 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Roy & Della Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pete Limburg; a twin sister, Virginia Knode; and a brother, Jack Yonkers.

Violet’s life was one of faithful service to the Lord and to His Church which encompassed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School , visiting homes of newborns, and reaching parents with the gospel. She found great joy in her 25 years of working with the Mt. Hope Prison Ministries.

She was employed by Colonial Kitchens and later retired from the Washington County Social Services in 1981.

She is survived by a son, Ronald “Pete” Limburg, of Warrenton, Va.; daughters, Donna Faunce of West Chester, Pa. and Brenda Passiales of Calabash, N.C.; a niece, Ann Chaney of Hagerstown; a nephew, Dick Knode of Millersville, Md.; along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 19,2016 at First Baptist Church, 15 High St., Hagerstown. Friends will be received at 11:30.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to First Baptist Church will be appreciated.
