Vivian Janet Morris, 90 of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born March 15, 1927 in Hagerstown, MD to Lillian Brewer (Rhodes) Koogle and raised by grandparents Percy and Bertha Rhodes. In addition to her mother and grandparents, Vivian is also preceded in death by loving husband of 42 years, Richard R. Morris; son Gary L. Morris; Sister Gale Koogle; Brother James "Sonny" Koogle; and special aunt Helen Rhodes.
Vivian was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School, class of 1945.
Vivian was a homemaker and Lutheran in Faith. She was a life time member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Funkstown Post 211 and Redmen Pocahontas of Williamsport Post 84. She was a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Bank, VA Hospital and St. Mark's Food Bank. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo, making crafts, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Vivian is survived by son Wayne Morris and wife Stacie; daughters Teresa Roby and husband Winfred, and Melanie Showe and fianc Chris Lawson; grandchildren Jason Morris, RJ Roby, Aaron Roby, Austin Showe, and Jennifer Morris; great grandchildren Noah and Caroline Morris; and sister Dorothy Hammond.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, with Rev. Stan Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vivian's name to Doey's House at Hospice of Washington County 747 Northern Ave Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church 601 Washington Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
