Wanda Lee Boyer, 78 of Hagerstown, went home to her heavenly father on December 24th, 2024 at 12:45 am.Born May 4th 1946 to the late Marvin R and Margaret L (Hurd) Moats. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jon H Boyer and stepbrother Howard “JR” Rice Jr.
Wanda was a true worker. She was known for her hard work ethic and dedication to others. She was employed at London Fog MFG for 32 years until they closed. She then went to work for Fox Sales and Liberty Gas Station where she was known for making the best bacon & egg sandwich in Hagerstown. She then moved into her current position as a customer agent at the MD Dept. of Motor Vehicles. She was still actively working and had just celebrated 20 years of service with the State of MD.
She was a lifetime member of the Hagerstown Bible Church. A devoted Christian, her life was truly blessed each and every day. She made it a point to bring the Lord into everyone’s life.
For Wanda, family meant everything. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Boyer of Hagerstown, daughter Wendy Loveless and husband Tim of Williamsport. Her loving and devoted grandson Zacharie and granddog Duke of Tuscaloosa Alabama.
She is also survived by a sister Loretta Purdham “Sis” of Williamsport; two granddaughters Jessica Smith & Jennifer Hoeck of Hagerstown. Let’s not forget her precious kitty “cat” too. She also enjoyed multiple great grandchildren.
Wanda will be greatly missed by not only her children but many others whose lives she touched. Her mission on this Earth was to touch as many lives as possible and leaving lasting cherished memories. If you were blessed by Wanda’s journey on this Earth, remember to cherish time with family and friends and always pay it forward. You will be blessed in the end.
The family would like to thank Dr. Collins, ICU staff, hospitalist “Meg” and the staff of the 5th floor of WVU Berkeley for their heartfelt love, support and care of their beloved mother and grandmother Wanda. The family requests if attending any of the services please wear your bright flowered garments, as she loved these!
A visitation will be held at Rest Haven Funeral home Monday December 30, 2024 from 6-8pm, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown MD. Funeral services will also be held at Rest Haven Funeral home Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 11 am. Reception to follow at Williamsport Fire Hall, 2 Brandy Dr Williamsport MD.
