Wilbur Eugene Harp, 75, of Smithsburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born April 19, 1940 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Wilbur U. and Dolly V. (McMullen) Harp.
Mr. Harp retired in 2002 from ALCOA, EastAlco Works where he worked in the ladle repair shop, after his retirement he worked in the seasonal maintenance department for Cunningham Falls State Park.
He attended Mt. Lena United Methodist Church and was a member of the Washington County Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors, Hess trucks and antique toys. He loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he also enjoyed attending Southern Gospel and Gospel Bluegrass Music Concerts.
Mr. Harp was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elouise M. (Detrow) Harp; three children, Kathy Virginia Plunkett and husband Terry, Ricky Eugene Harp, Sr. and fiancé, Tara Fann and Michael Lynn Harp and wife Jenny, all of Smithsburg; three grandchildren, Richelle L. Harp and fiancé, Brandon White, Nathaniel J. Plunkett and Ricky E. "RJ" Harp, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Brayden Michael Eugene Harp, Kayleigh Mae Harp and Liam White.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown with Rev. Jerry Lowans, Washington Square United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
