Willabelle Katherine Stottlemyer

Willabelle (Willie) Katherine Stottlemyer, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on December 9,2024 at the age of 94 in UPMC Harrisburg, PA.

Willabelle was born in Shaw, WV. She was the daughter of the late Retha Slade, Stepfather James Slade, and Father Ralph Poling.

She was employed by the Washington County Hospital, Fahrney Keedy Retirement Home, and Co- owner of George and Willies restaurant of Hagerstown, MD.

She was of Christian Faith, she was also, a member of the Funkstown American Legion Post 211 woman’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Larry Hershman (Barbara) of Hagerstown, MD, Ruth Dupuis (Richard) of Newark, DE, Gary Hershman (Lisa) of Rohresville, MD, Glenda Walling (William) of Fairplay, MD, Robert Hershman (Madonna) of Smithsburg , MD, Retha Thomas and late husband Charles of Keedysville, MD, Stepdaughters; Sonya Long, Christine Harris, Wanda Black, and Teresa Stottlemyer, twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren, and five great-great- grandchildren.

Willabelle was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Stottlemyer, and grandson, Dennis Waters.

A funeral service will be held, December 16, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. with a visitation prior from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Tom Young officiating and interment following at Rest Haven Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Shawn Waters, David Waters, Bradley Thomas, Justin Hershman, Matthew Hershman, Mark Hershman, and Darrin Walling.
