William L. “Bill” Drager, 85, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on October 24, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of 47 years to the late Joyce Margaret Drager.
Born on October 1, 1938, in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Anna Drager. Following high school he joined the United States Air Force serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He then began a career with Mack Truck in Hagerstown working as a power train technician for over 30 years. He also worked with the Washington County Board of Education. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church with his wife until their later years. In his downtime, Bill had his small planes pilots license and flew with the CAP for many years. He was an Amateur Radio Operator “HAM” for over 60 years and a member of the local radio club. He also enjoyed model training and bird watching.
Bill is survived by his son, Steven W. Drager and wife Ann of Frederick, Maryland; and in addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela S. Drager.
Friends will be received from 9-11am on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown. A funeral service will begin at 11am and interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
