William Henry Fridinger, Jr.

William Henry Fridinger, Jr., 93, of Williamsport, Md. passed away, Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Doey's House, Hagerstown.
Born August 11, 1927 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, William H. Fridinger, Sr. and Hazel (Hammersla) Fridinger. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Helen Marie (Marr) Fridinger; a son, William H. Fridinger, III and two siblings, Jack Fridinger and Jeanne Corwell.
Mr. Fridinger was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School; He was a Seaman Second Class US Navy veteran and a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
Mr. Fridinger retired as a conductor with 35 years of service with Western Maryland, Chessie System and CSX railroad.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Fridinger, two grandchildren, Nathan M. Fridinger and wife Nicole, Andrea M. Duffey and husband, Christopher; one great granddaughter, Reagan Duffey and his daughter in law, Dianne Fridinger.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the US Navy Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions 30 people in the funeral home at one time, facial coverings and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, (Doey's House) 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
