William Oscar Bock, 83, of Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 6, 1928, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Sadie (Riley) Bock.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
William retired as a truck driver with General Electric in Maugansville. He went on to work part time in the produce department at Weis Markets.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathleen Frances (Morris) Bock; a son, Richard Bock and wife, Patricia, of Seven Valleys, Pa.; two sisters, Shirley Amato and husband, Joe, of Chestertown, Md., and Donna Cogan and husband, Ken, of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Richard and Bridgette McKee, and Justin and Ashley Bock; three great-grandchildren, Shane Bock, Corbin McKee and Micalina Bock; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Bock Moody.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, with military honors accorded by AMVETS Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.
Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
