William Vernon Gipe

William "Bill" Vernon Gipe, 45, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born June 24, 1966, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Nelson W. Gipe Sr. and Mary G. (Mills) Gipe of Hagerstown.
William was formerly employed as a taxi cab driver for Miller Transportation in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his four daughters, Ashley Diehl and husband, Arthur "Gene," Angela Gipe, April Stevens and husband, Justin, and Billie Jo Gipe, all of Hagerstown; two sisters, Lorraine Gipe, and Penny Jennings and husband, Andre; and a brother, Nelson Gipe Jr., all of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Devin, Matthew, Drake, Shiloh, Alexis and Mckenzie; the mother of his children, Ronda Thomas of Keedysville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. Interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742, to defray funeral costs.
