When meeting with funeral homes in Hagerstown, MD. for your loved one’s arrangements, you will have many decisions to make. One of these is choosing their casket. Not only choosing the type and material, but also selecting any customizations you would like to have so that it is more personal for your loved one. One popular way families are choosing to customize the casket is with a casket wrap.

What is a Casket Wrap?

If you are not familiar with a casket wrap, it a vinyl wrap that is applied to the exterior of the casket. Vinyl wraps have been around for quite a while and are most often used on cars, especially commercial ones where the company logo and additional designs are applied to the vehicle.

These wraps are applied and smoothed down so that it appears the image and design has been printed directly on the casket. Because of this, these wraps can change the entire look of the casket.

Advantages of Using a Casket Wrap

There are several reasons families my choose to use a vinyl wrap on their loved one’s casket. Some of the most common are:

Changes the Look- Because these wraps can have any design applied, it is possible to change the entire look of the casket. For example, you could purchase a wooden casket but have a wrap applied that has a different finish such as metal.

Makes it Personal- With these wraps being able to be customized, families can have the casket wrapped with one (or more) of their favorite photographs of their loved one, or any other logo or design they wish to really show the personality of their loved one.

Budget Friendly- While casket wraps can be costly depending on where you purchase them, they still might be a more budget friendly option. This is because families can choose to purchase a less expensive casket material since it will not be seen.

Having a Casket Wrap Made

Each company will have their own way of processing orders, but typically the flow of the order tends to run the same way.

It starts with contacting the vendor and discussing what it is you wish to have, and the date and location of the service. It is crucial you let the vendor know about the date and location to ensure they can have the wrap completed and applied by that date.

Next, you will work with the vendor on the design of the wrap. The vendor will most likely have a wide selection of stock images you can use, or will work with you to create a custom design. The design will then be printed on the vinyl material.

Next, the wrap will be shipped to the location you desire. Local providers will then apply the wrap to your loved one’s casket. If no local providers are available, then the vendor may hire out a 3rd party to apply the wrap.

When you meet with funeral homes in Hagerstown, MD., talking to the funeral director about this process will help you know more about how it works as well as if there is a local vendor. If not, you can simply perform a search online to find a vendor to work with digitally.
